SpaceKnow is implementing a new feature on our user-friendly platform, which will be available in the coming weeks. Users will not only be able to create their own data reports, but also open data reports created by our own team of data scientists at SpaceKnow.
How to use it
Our platform gives users the option of running an analysis at analytics.spaceknow.com by selecting an area of interest of up to 81 square kilometers. Once the user has selected their area of interest, they are given a list of object detections such as cars, roads, water, planes, trees, urbanization and more. The user can select as many object detections as they would like to receive, available for download as CSV, PNG, or GeoJson files, after the analysis is complete. The user can also select a number of images over a span of years or months which they choose from the timeline. The timeline allows the user to view the images individually and compare them over time. After the analysis begins, it can take anywhere from 10 to 24 hours to complete. Users will be notified when the analysis is complete through desktop notifications.
How we’ve updated
The platform is currently being updated to include reports with findings from our team of data scientists and will be available on the platform to select, view and download. Our first report will reveal our findings from the disputed South China Sea, where we examined the growth of the Chinese Artificial Islands by measuring the expansion and increasing efficiency of construction by Beijing. We will also be releasing a case study which examines the trends more deeply on our site.
