Since 2011, the Civil War in Syria has forced more than 11 million people to leave their homes. Millions of people have been fleeing the country and more than 600,000 Syrian refugees have sought safety in Jordan.
Many Syrians found safety in the Zaatari Refugee Camp, a refugee camp near the Jordan-Syrian border. The camp was constructed by the government of Jordan and international agencies in response to the escalating refugee crisis.
Spaceknow brings you high-resolution satellite imagery (accessed via Spaceknow Analystics) of the Zaatari Refugee Camp between 2011 and 2016.
First, the area was analyzed using our Change Detection feature which illustrates the exponential growth of the Zaatari camp across the desert after 2011.
